Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows on Thursday dominated that Donald Trump is ineligible to seem at the state's presidential number one poll for violating the 14th Modification's insurrectionist ban.
“I do not reach this conclusion lightly,” Bellows wrote. “Democracy is sacred.” She went on to explain the occasions of Jan. 6, 2021, as “unprecedented and tragic.”
“The evidence here demonstrates that they occurred at the behest of, and with the knowledge and support of, the outgoing President,” she persisted. “The U.S. Constitution does not tolerate an assault on the foundations of our government[.]”
The verdict follows the Colorado Superb Courtroom ruling remaining week that Trump will have to be disqualified from the poll. The Colorado Republican Birthday celebration has appealed the verdict to the U.S. Superb Courtroom.
