Jermaine Jackson has been sued for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl named Rita Butler Barrett in Los Angeles in 1988.
The civil lawsuit for sexual battery, battery, sexual attack and negligence used to be filed by means of Barrett on Wednesday and acquired by means of Web page Six on Thursday.

In her submitting, Barrett claims Jackson “engaged and affirmatively participated in a conspiracy to cover up or prevent disclosure of information relating to the abuse,” which allegedly “consisted of a concerted effort to hide evidence relating to sexual assault that incentivized individuals to remain silent or prevent information relating to a sexual assault from becoming public or being disclosed to [Barrett].”
In step with Barrett, the alleged coverup denied her “the ability to mitigate her damages, to obtain therapeutic support and disclose the trauma to others.”
