US fighter jets shot down an unidentified object over Lake Huron on Sunday, marking the third time such motion was taken in as many days and approaching the heels of final week’s Chinese language spy balloon scandal.

Sunday’s takedown is believed to have concerned an object that was noticed over Montana on Saturday, The Related Press stated, citing US officers who spoke on situation of anonymity.

US and Canadian authorities restricted airspace over the lake earlier within the day as army jets scrambled to intercept and determine the item, AP stated.

US Rep. Jack Bergman (R-Mich.), a former Marine lieutenant basic, tweeted that “he’d been in touch” with the Protection Division “concerning operations throughout the Nice Lakes area at present.

The incident adopted the US takedowns of two different unidentified objects over Alaska and Canada on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The transfer — made “with the cooperation of the Federal Aviation Administration” — was meant “to make sure the protection of air visitors within the space throughout NORAD operations,” the joint US-Canada protection group stated.

NORAD didn’t elaborate on the time, however on Saturday, it blamed a radar anomaly for studies that an object that had been noticed in Montana’s airspace.
