Mia O’Connell, from Co. Waterford in Eire, was dragged out of her cot by the household’s rescue terrier dachshund cross, known as Crimson, in June 2021.
She was discovered by her aunt Emily Wooden ‘who screamed’ when she walked into her niece’s room to see the newborn on the ground coated in blood with Crimson standing over her, the Irish Each day Mail experiences.
The inquest heard child Mia’s dad and mom – Rhys O’Connell and Ella Wooden – had been ‘ecstatic’ on the delivery of their daughter and have been left heartbroken over her loss of life.
