Following in the footsteps of social media platforms like Clubhouse, Twitter added a way to host and take part in live audio conversations with a feature called Twitter Spaces.
In addition to letting a group of people take turns having real-time audio-only conversations, you can also pin tweets to your Space, which everyone can see and react to. Pinning (and unpinning) these tweets take just a few taps.
How to pin a tweet in a Twitter Space
Only the Space's host, co-host, or a speaker can pin a tweet within a Space. If you have joined a Space and want to share a tweet with the group, you need to request permission to speak first. To do that, tap Request at the bottom left of the Space window. After the host approves your request, you'll see the icon change to Mic is off. Now you can pin a tweet.
1. Tap anywhere in the Twitter app outside the Space window. The Space will minimize at the bottom of the screen.
2. Find the tweet you want to pin.
3. Tap the tweet's Share icon (the upward arrow) and then, in the pop-up window, tap the name of the Space you want to pin it to.
How to unpin a tweet in a Twitter Space
Once a tweet has been pinned to the top of a Space, it can be unpinned by the host, co-host or speaker — the person who removes a tweet does not need to be the same person who originally pinned it.
1. In the Space window, find the tweet you want to unpin. You might need to swipe to the right or left if there are several pinned tweets.
2. Tap the X at the top right of the tweet.
3. In the pop-up, confirm you want to unpin it by tapping Remove.
