"Bel-Air" premiered on Peacock on February 13. The series is inspired by a mock trailer that reimagined the '90s sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" as a modern drama. The new show is executive produced by original series star Will Smith, alongside Morgan Cooper, who created the mock trailer.
"Bel-Air" follows a fictionalized Will Smith (Jabari Banks) as he moves from the streets of West Philadelphia into his aunt and uncle's Bel-Air mansion. Other beloved characters from the original series are also reimagined as part of the main cast, including Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, Carlton, Hilary, and Ashley.
In a change from the original sitcom, "Bel-Air" is an hour-long drama that digs deeper into issues that the original show didn't have the space to tackle as a half-hour comedy. Early reviews are mostly positive. The show currently has a "66% Fresh" rating on review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Where to watch 'Bel-Air'
You can now watch "Bel-Air" exclusively on Peacock. New episodes will be released every Thursday through March 31. The first episode of "Bel-Air" is available for free with a basic Peacock subscription, but you need a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus plan to stream the rest of the season.
Peacock Premium costs $5 a month and gives you ad-supported access to Peacock's entire streaming library. If you prefer an ad-free streaming experience, you can upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for $10 a month.

If you want to watch the original series before checking out the new reboot, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is streaming in its entirety on HBO Max. The service has all 148 episodes of the series.
Additionally, HBO Max also has "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion," which was filmed in 2020. The special reunited the original cast, including Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Viv for the first three seasons. In the special, Hubert and Will Smith talk for the first time since Hubert's departure from the show.
