Do you need an Instant Pot?
If you're looking for a kitchen appliance that can pressure cook, slow cook, saute, simmer, and more, a multicooker like the Instant Pot is the way to go. We mainly use the pressure cooking function on our multicookers because it uses heat and pressure to shorten cooking tasks that typically take hours. For instance, an Instant Pot can produce easy-to-shred pulled pork in an hour rather than the usual eight-plus hours. What size Instant Pot should I buy?
We think most people will get the best use out of a six or eight-quart model. Most people start with a six-quart pressure cooker and upgrade as needed. If you plan on cooking larger meals, an eight-quart model may be best. We didn't notice any difference in performance between the six and eight-quart multicookers we tested. Also, while larger Instant Pots are available, we don't think most people will find the extra space of a 10-quart or larger model necessary.
