The 15 jobs everyone is applying for in the UK, from warehouse worker to trainee accountant

Vacancies plummeted during the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK — and with many people newly unemployed, job ads proved more popular than ever. 

More than 15 jobs received more than 1,000 applications in July on the job website CV-Library. The site normally receives an average of 25 applications per vacancy. All of the vacancies had a salary below the national annual average of £30,500 ($39,942).

Below, we've listed all the jobs that received more than 1,000 applications, starting with the most popular. We've also included the take-home pay when you account for taxes, and, where available, the average salary for the job's location, according to 2019 data from the UK Office of National Statistics and county council government data. 

1. Trainee Paralegal, London — £23,000 ($30,331), 4,228 applications

5. Assembly Operative, Sunderland — £18,573 ($24,493), 2,653 applications

6. Administrator, Coventry — £20,475 ($27,001), 2,154 applications

9. NHS 111 Call Handler, London — £19,500 ($25,715) , 1,656 applications

10. Recruitment Consultant, London — £30,000 ($39,562), 1,627 applications

11. Sales Executive, Nationwide — 1,575 applications ​
