In the Chianti hills among centuries-old oaks and olive groves, the villa sleeps up to 16 people, and has a natural botanical garden, private saltwater swimming pool, and two wood pizza ovens.



2012: Off-The-Grid House, Pioneertown, California

Located deep in the desert of California, the Off-The-Grid House was wishlisted 98,796 times. Advertised as a perfect place for a digital detox, the exterior solar panels provide electricity and heat, and the floor to ceiling windows allow for unobstructed views of the dramatic scenery all around.



2013: Seashell House, Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Set atop a cliff above a beach, the World Famous Seashell House boasts a private pool, and throughout the house, guests will find elements of an actual seashell — from the spiral staircase mimicking the inside of a shell to coral used as decor. It was wishlisted 235,803 times.



2014: Cob Cottage, Mayne Island, Canada

An earth house that was hand-sculpted using sustainable materials, Cob Cottage was wishlisted 152,918 times. The home also has sheep and chickens outside, offering a source of fresh eggs and milk for meals.



2015: Balian Treehouse, Bali, Indonesia

The Balian Treehouse was wishlisted no fewer than 271,887 times. Perched above a beach, the property also had a veranda, garden, and pool. But for those desiring some level of human interaction, a town is nearby.



2016: Everview Suite, Cape Town, South Africa

The Everview Suite in Cape Town has views of Table Mountain, and is on the Atlantic Ocean shoreline. Capable of sleeping up to six people, it also has a heated pool and fireplace. It was wishlisted 28,305 times.



2017: White Breeze Apartment, Phuket, Thailand

A private pool is but one advantage of Phuket, Thailand's White Breeze Apartment. Wishlisted 204,110 times, it also has its own papaya trees on the property — meaning fresh fruit is always available.



2018: Hector Cave House, Santorini, Greece

Carved into the caldera cliff, Hector Cave House was originally a wine cellar, and was converted into a vacation home. It was wishlisted 254,773 times. Being on Santorini, it offers jaw-dropping views of the Aegean Sea below — and an outdoor veranda with a pool from which to enjoy it.



2019: Exceptional Property with Private Beach, Santa Catarina, Brazil

The name may be simple, but Exceptional Property with Private Beach in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina is spectacular. The beachfront home has an outdoor Brazilian barbecue, and the hosts have also provided a wooden boat, surfboards, and loungers for guests to use. The property was wishlisted 275,862 times last year.
