  • As future Queen consort, Kate Middleton will one day follow in the footsteps of our current Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The Duchess of Cambridge often attends royal engagements with the monarch, and it's not unusual for the duo to coordinate their outfits at these events.
  • Here are the ladies' best coordinated looks so far, from matching fascinators to color block suits.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Queen Elizabeth wore matching white ball gowns and tiaras to a state dinner with Donald Trump last summer. They each wore an almost identical blue sash, to represent the Royal Victorian Order.

Both Middleton and the monarch wore a pale blue coat for an Easter Sunday church service in 2019.

However, the ladies sometimes opt for bolder shades. They wore purple coats at a church outing for Middleton's birthday in January 2020.

The duchess gave Her Majesty a tour of her "Back to Nature" garden at the Chelsea Flower Show last year — and both fittingly wore a floral print dress for the occasion.

They often wear the same color, but in slightly different shades. In this photo from a royal engagement, the duchess opted for a navy dress and fascinator while the Queen chose bright blue.

At some events, such as Remembrance Day services, the dress code permits the ladies to wear similar attire.

Often something as subtle as their accessories will match. Here, Middleton's fascinator went perfectly with Her Majesty's black handbag.

Blue is clearly a favorite for these two. Middleton and the monarch stood out as the only family members who wore the color on the Buckingham Palace balcony in 2018. The duchess wore an Alexander McQueen dress while Her Majesty wore her traditional color-block suit.

The duchess channeled Her Majesty's trademark look at Princess Charlotte's christening in 2015. While the monarch stunned in an all-pink Angela Kelly ensemble, Middleton wore a cream Alexander McQueen suitdress and marching fascinator.

This has to be one of the ladies' best coordinated looks yet. While the duchess matched her Elie Saab dress to Her Majesty's Angela Kelly coat, it was their similar floral hats that made them stand out at Royal Ascot 2019.
