A New York woman celebrated her 107th birthday on Wednesday and spilled her secret of longevity: never get married and eat Italian food.
"I think the secret of 107: I never got married. I think that's the secret," 107-year-old Louise Signore told WCBS. "My sister says, 'I wish I never got married.'" Her sister turned 102 in March.
Signore, born on July 31, 1912 in Harlem, celebrated with over 100 friends and family at the Jewish Association Serving the Aging Bartow Senior Center in her hometown of the Bronx, where she has lived since she was 14, WCBS-TV reported.
"I think that her connection with her neighbors in the community and also her friends here at the senior center help to keep her going," Aisha Parillon, the director of senior services at the center, told WCBS-TV.

According to WCBS-TV, Signore has faced some adversity in her over 100 years of living — including surviving an assault and robbery just four years ago and being legally blind.
Despite her age, Signore, who lives alone, still finds herself living an active lifestyle. She doesn't have a walking cane or wheelchair, and she does all of her own shopping, her friend Deborah Whitaker told local news. Not to mention, she still takes part in daily activities like dancing and bingo.
"If they have exercise, I do the exercise," Signore told WCBS. "If they have dancing, I dance. I still a do a little dancing. After my lunch, I will play bingo, so I had a full day."
And in terms of her diet, she's a proponent of Italian food: "Italian food is very good for you. I was brought up with very good food. No soda, no cake."
